You can overlook it most of the time, but it can be a big problem when you’re in a panic and just have to snatch that gun to survive.An emergent soundtrack made of rhythmic drum beats and cymbal crashes accompanies every swift punch and throw in this hyper-violent top-down action game about an escaped gorilla. If there’s an issue with Unturned, it’s that interacting with items can be a bit finicky. Some AI adversaries beyond just zombies would be nice, but the game works quite well overall and has a great aesthetic. Unturned is like a cross between Minecraft and DayZ. Being chased down by a relentless zombie can be frustrating, but having the control to turn and fire accurately is satisfying. Using the mouse to aim or navigate is very smooth, and tapping a mouse button to fire a gun or swing a club is very fluid. Using your keyboard and mouse, you can walk, sprint, crawl, kneel, jump and more. Movement feels fluid and is a strong point of the game. At first, you’ll be fending off zombies with a stick, but you’ll eventually have powerful hand cannons, scoped sniper rifles, and even vehicles that let you get from point A to point B much faster than you could ever walk. Zombies are everywhere, and you have to avoid them and run from them until you’ve created or found the means to dispatch them.
